Manor Park Reconstruction Project

A reconstruction project was developed with leading manor park landscape designers Artes Terræ during 2013-2014, and approved by the Heritage Protection Department in April 2014.

The design references historical sources and broadly reflects how the manor park would have looked in the first half of the nineteenth century, restoring known or contemporary features and including modern amenities such as visitor parking, lighting, and playground.

The development of the reconstruction project was supported by a grant from the Enviromental Investment Centre (KIK).
The reconstruction project is available to view online here.

During 2015-2016 the first phase of the reconstruction project, tree felling, cutting, and crowning, was performed by arborial experts from Kadrioru Park, who manage Kadriorg Park – established by Peter the Great in 1718 with the construction of Kadriorg Palace and the elegant Flower Garden.

This work was also supported by a KIK grant.

The next phase of the project is to install small architectural features, including benches around the park, a bridge to one of the islands, which will have a round pavilion, and a pair of flagpoles.
