Hiking Trail

The idea of the project was born in late autumn 2010 in cooperation with Vajangu primary school, Järva-Jaani secondary school, and the NGO Ökokratt. The study project is supported by the Environmental Investment Centre (KIK). The aim of the study is to protect the nature of the region, to preserve its biodiversity, the conservation of natural habitats and speciesof wild fauna, flora, and fungi, and to preserve the cultural and aesthetically valuable natural environment by making the inhabitants’ values and behaviours green, by establishing a training period and integrating it into a national education curriculum to support environmental education. For this purpose, the Vajangu primary school study path (hiking trail) was established on the neighboring villages of Vajangu, Võhmuta, Aavere, Turje, and Järsi; Järva-Jaani town, Jalalõpe, Karinu, Ramma and Metsla villages for teaching, exhibiting, and supplementing the school curricula. The values are the objects of nature and environment during the study period. Three of the stops on the hiking trail are in Võhmuta, with two on our manor park, including a 200 year old ash tree.
